COBS Belay Pod

This focuses on skills needed to supervise a belaying at the base of a climbing site (ex. belay successfully, instruct students to belay, and, tips and tricks for supervising groups of people who might have just learned to belay, and reflecting).

COBS Rappel Instructor

COBS Rafting 1

This is an entry level training required to work all river courses. It covers campcraft, group management on moving water, paddle raft management, and river specific skills needed to manage group safely (and fun!).

COBS Rafting 2

RAFTING 2 TRAINING PRE-REQS: Pass Rafting 1 Assessment TO BE STAFFED AS A RAFTING LEAD INSTRUCTOR: Pass Rafting 2 Assessment, Complete E&L 2, 1000 river miles of class III (at least 80 of which have been while rowing)

COBS Canoeing

To take the 1-day Canoe Training, you must have completed Rafting 1 Training. To take the 5-day, you must have completed E&L1 and Backpacking.

Canyon Backpacking

Pre-requisites for attending this training: • Able to carry 60 lb. backpack on & off trail • Completed E&L1 Training • Passed Alpine Backpacking Assessment, or, has at least 20 days of professional backpacking experience

Canyoneering

Pre-reqs to attend training: (see Assessment for full pre-reqs) • Built 15 non-bolted anchors • Passed Rappel Instructor OR attended Mountaineering 1 OR SPI course or ACA course • 5 lead climbs of 5.6 or higher (trad or sport) OR 5.9 top roped

COBS Rock Camp Instructor

Pre-requisites for attending this training: - Passing the AMGA Single Pitch Instructor EXAM or equivalent - 30 days in an Instructor role
